Ms. Suzanne Byrd

Mrs. Byrd

Hello, my name is Suzanne Byrd. I am entering my 7th year in education and my 4th year at Logan School. I currently teach middle school and high school math. I am a 1989 graduate of Los Alamos High School. I received my B.S degree in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1995.  I received my M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Houston in 1999.

I worked for Dow Chemical Company until 2000, when we moved to Carlsbad, NM where I worked as an engineer at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant.  In 2004 I started my own engineering consulting business, which is still up and running.  This business fills my nights, weekends, and summer vacation.  In 2008 we moved to Tucumcari, so that my husband could take over the operation of the ranch.  It was in 2008 when I started my teaching career at Tucumcari High School.

I have two children, Noah and Zackery, both in middle school and who enjoy being Logan Longhorns!  I really enjoy being able to keep an eye on my boys while at work.

I have had the privilege to coach the newly founded Lady Longhorn softball team. As fast pitch softball is my favorite sport, coaching the sport is something I really enjoy.

My favorite quote is: “You must do the things you think you cannot do.” Eleanor Roosevelt
